Primary mental health care

Primary mental health care is the first line interventions that are provided as an integral part of primary health care. Provided by primary care workers, this care includes: early identification of mental health issues and conditions; treatment of common mental health issues and conditions; mental health care for people with severe and stable mental health conditions referral to other levels of care where required; attention to the mental health needs of people with physical health problems; mental health promotion and prevention; and online or web-based treatment and support programs.
